The UK's only tribute to the music of UFO
UFO.... A band that completely passed me by as a teenager. So when I got a call out of the blue from Graham K (by this time ex-Rock Machine) about putting together a UFO tribute, I didn't really know which side of the fence I was on. Once he sent me a copy of the Strangers in the Night double live album I was hooked. Was also gutted they had passed me by in my youth! With Mark and his Flying V, and the musicianship of both Rob and Graham I, YOUFO produced a totally authentic sound that, we hoped, did justice to the songs we performed. The set was based mainly around the Michael Schenker era, but latterly we introduced a handful of Paul Chapman era numbers.
Sadly, after 18 months, things went sour and an amount of backstabbing and toys being thrown from prams, coupled with ignored phone calls, lead me to part company with the band on not fantastic terms. Shame really.
