A chance phone call from the manager of a band called Midnight, in the form of "our drummer is ill, can you stand in for tonight's show" led to the formation of Easy. During the show's breaks, I got to chat with the bass player, Max, and found we were both into the technology side of music, although he told me that the band weren't into it at all so he'd probably never get to use it live. Over the next few weeks we exchanged emails and out of the blue he asked me if I fancied getting a band together using midis and samples. I took no persuading whatsoever. Two singers and about 100 guitarists later, Easy was born. It took about 18 months of auditioning and rehearsing to get the project together with the right people, but it was worth it.
Easy was a classic, cheesey, and very, very busy party band, covering everything from the 70's through to the present day. From Kool and the Gang through to Robbie Williams. We had a massive sound, due to every song having midi backing, had a full computerised light show and were twice winners of the MEL Worldwide Entertainment's Band of the Year (2003 and 2004).
